My Philosophy
4EverStudios is my independent indie game and app development brand that I started in the hopes of making a positive impact on those I come into contact with. I believe that games are an essential tool for growth and development in many aspects of our lives and their benefits are often over looked. Games are a fantastic source of entertainment and distraction from our daily lives, however, that is not the only purpose that they are capable of serving. Those same games being used as entertainment could also serve as learning tools and assist individuals in thinking in new and innovative ways. Many games have dynamic mechanics and properties that force the players to think in "out of the box" ways, promoting creativity and thinking skills. Chess is a perfect example of a game that has great teaching potential. For ages it has been played, even required in some instances, to be learned and mastered by tacticians, scholars, and writers alike. Such as books and life experiences could be credited with aiding our growth, games too could have such an effect; all it takes is realizing what it is they are trying to teach us.
Not everyone has the ability to learn in the same setting, sitting in a classroom listening to lectures or by readying a text book. In my college career as a student at Arizona State University I have discovered that while the classroom environment is important for teaching skills that will help individuals grow as a professional, they don't necessarily help the individual grow as an individual. This is one thing that games could offer people, a chance to learn philosophies, moralities and new worldly outlooks; all while having fun.
With the games and applications that I create to share with the world, I aim to give people entertainment that could distract them from their daily lives while teaching new skills at a fundamental level. Promoting education, entertainment, and growth.
